INSTITUTE FOR DIETETICS IN NIGERIA
The Institute for Dietetics in Nigeria (IDN) is the professional platform for all Registered Dietitians in Nigeria. It is also the mentoring field of would-be Dietitians in Nigeria. The Institute coordinates the affairs of the Dietitians in Nigeria, regulates the training of Dietitians and conducts the professional examination towards the registration of Dietitians in the country. Besides, it regulates the practice of Dietetics profession in Nigeria by issuance of Annual Practice License to qualified and certified Dietitians in Nigeria.
The professional body of Dietitians in Nigeria was established in 1970 as “Nigerian Dietetics Association (NDA)” until 2010 when the body was registered with Corporate Affairs Commission as “Institute for Dietetics in Nigeria (IDN)”. The body is the sole National professional body of Dietitians in Nigeria.
As the Umbrella of all Professional Registered Dietitians, the Institute Organizes Annual Scientific Conferences and Training for her members. Membership of the Institute spans across the entire length and breadth of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The Institute regulates Nutrition and Dietetics practice in Nigeria and oversees the compliance of her members to ethical standards.

Executive Council Members
The Day – to – day affairs of the Institute is under the management of the National Executive Council. The Council is usually constituted through a democratic process. Member of the Council are elected at a quadrennial conference and members are eligible to a re-election into the Council. The Council is currently headed by Tajudeen Olutope Ahmed, Esq., FIDN as her President. The Council has two Vice Presidents ( Vice President “North” and Vice President “South” ). While the President coordinates the National affairs of the Institute, the Vice Presidents supervises dietetic activities in their respective areas of jurisdiction.
